Welcome to our second edition of CyberSAFE Webzine!

Internet is one of the most fascinating inventions in our lifetime. It offers various platforms such as information sharing, online chatting, blogging, etc. In this new era of globalization, we are becoming dependent of the internet to help us with our daily tasks such as to plan our travel, to conduct research and many more. Some of us may use the internet to interact socially through social networking sites, enjoy online gaming with our friends or catch up with the online community in ‘real time’ through online chatting.

However, the excessive use of internet may lead to addiction and effect our daily lives in the real world. Among the 16.5million internet users in Malaysia at present, the largest segment of internet users by age is the teens (aged 10-19 years old) - who enjoy the internet services and have a very high risk of being addicted to the internet. With this in mind,we have made Teens and Internet Addictions as the theme for this issue of our webzine Be Smart, Be Safe!
